Comprehensive Coverage Information
(Connecticut Car Insurance)
Covers damage caused to the insured's car (your car) from risks such as theft, fire, falling objects, earthquake, flood, missiles, explosion, riot and civil unrest.
Comprehensive car insurance coverage will pay up to the fair market value of your car (less your car insurance deductible). The deductible is the amount you choose to pay upfront (if any) before the car insurance policy pays. The higher the deductible chosen the lower the comprehensive coverage cost of the car insurance policy. It's not required in any state to carry comprehensive coverage, but will be required in most cases for your car to be financed.
